"Smarter Strength Training, Powered by Neuroscience"

Katja Kreher

“Originally from Germany, I moved to California in 1996 with my newborn daughter—and yes, I still have a German accent. Shortly after arriving in the U.S., I founded and ran an equestrian farm, which deepened my understanding of movement, balance, coordination, and physical resilience. I’m a lifelong athlete and a certified personal trainer with over 25 years of experience, specializing in helping women in midlife and beyond build strong, resilient, and confident bodies.

Earlier in my career, I was an endurance-focused athlete, constantly chasing the next challenge—from 5Ks and half marathons to triathlons. I believed in pushing harder, training longer, and making workouts more intense at all costs. The “no pain, no gain” mindset eventually caught up with me, leading to burnout and injuries and forcing me to rethink everything I thought I knew about fitness.

That experience led me to a smarter, science-based approach. Today, my work is grounded in applied neuroscience through Z-Health. As a Certified Z-Health (Applied Neurology) Practitioner, I train the nervous system alongside strength and movement. When the brain feels safe and supported, strength improves, movement becomes more efficient, balance sharpens, and pain often decreases.

Rather than cookie-cutter programs or trendy workouts, I assess how the brain and body communicate—looking at balance, coordination, joint function, and movement quality. From there, I design intelligent resistance and brain-based training programs that support long-term strength, joint health, injury prevention, and confident movement for life.
